ProovStation Car Rental AI Scanning

In an era where time is of the essence, the car rental process has often been a tedious pause in the swift flow of travel. Enter ProovStation, who have introduced an innovation set to revolutionise the car rental industry: the 360° AI-powered scanner.

This groundbreaking technology promises to streamline the car inspection process, eliminating the frustrations and inefficiencies that have long plagued travellers and is on show here in Las Vegas at CES 2024.

The ProovStation scanner represents a leap forward in vehicle inspection technology. Its ability to perform 600+ scans per hour without requiring the vehicle to stop ensures a seamless drive-through experience.

Available 24/7, this system has already achieved over 28 million scans across 300 units sold worldwide in 12 countries, including key locations such as Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, and major European airports.

How it Works

The scanner’s success lies in its meticulous precision. Equipped with NVIDIA graphics cards and a sophisticated optronic system, it captures over 300 high-definition images in a single scan, covering every angle of the vehicle. The advanced AI algorithms analyse these images in real-time, accurately identifying damages down to the nearest millimetre.

This process culminates in a comprehensive damage report, complete with vehicle information, a detailed damage list, and tyre condition, all secured with timestamps and geolocation.

This high-speed, transparent, and accurate inspection process benefits customers and rental agencies. For travellers, it means a hassle-free check-in and check-out experience, with the assurance of a fair and precise assessment of the vehicle’s condition.

Car rental and hire companies stand to gain significantly from the ProovStation scanner. The automation of the inspection process translates into hundreds of saved hours each month previously lost to manual inspections and liability discussions. This efficiency improves the flow of vehicles in and out of forecourts and allows resources to be relocated to other value-added tasks, thereby enhancing overall customer service.

Leveraging more than 5 years of R&D, the ProovStation scanner is based on a unique technology that combines a new generation AI, NVIDIA graphics cards and a state-of-the-art optronic system (8 cameras, 4K definition) to perform a 360° scan of the car within seconds. More than 300 HD images are taken and analyzed by its algorithms in real time before completing a diagnosis.

ProovStation

Looking ahead, ProovStation has inaugurated a production factory in France capable of producing 50 stations per month to keep up with the escalating demand. These scanners are designed for easy shipment and installation, ensuring that more locations worldwide, including Maui, Nashville, Orlando, and Amsterdam, will soon benefit from this technology.

In summary, the partnership between ProovStation and Car Rental companies is setting a new standard in the vehicle hire industry. By harnessing cutting-edge AI technology and innovative engineering, they offer a service that is simple, fast, secure, and accessible.

The widespread adoption of such technology is a significant stride towards a future where technology and travel merge seamlessly, enhancing efficiency and customer satisfaction.
