Although Edifier is a household name in the audio business, it’s chosen to launch its new ANC NeoBuds Pro earbuds on crowdfunding site Indiegogo. This isn’t anything new, Bose did the same a couple of years back with the original SleepBuds, and Zendure regularly starts its power banks and travel adapters there.
However, it indicates that these new Buds, which are boasting some exciting specs, may be better suited to those who enjoy using early version tech and that Edifier is testing the market and product.
Edifier NeoBuds Pro ANC Earbuds
Regardless of where Edifier is launching its new earbuds, the brand name carries some serious weight in the audio world, emphasising budget-friendly pricing for an honest, quality product.
I’ve tested and reviewed several Edifier earbuds, and this phrase rings true in each of the articles, so I’m confident the new NeoBuds Pro ANC buds will tick the same boxes. In fact, I still use the Edifier TWS1 Pro as my daily buds.

NeoBuds pro Earbuds Features
The sub £100 ANC earbud market is really starting to fill up with some great offerings, and the latest to this list is the new NeoBuds Pro from Edifier.
Inside, the NeoBuds Pro flaunt plenty of new, and some not so new, technologies, including a new innovative acoustic tech which Edifier says “digitally returns sound with the highest fidelity ever achieved by a pair of wireless earphones”.
Edifier leverages the innovative digital Active Crossover technology to process sound through a Digital Computation Processor (DSP) for Bi-Drivers—a custom-designed dynamic driver captures exceptionally deep bass, while the Knowles balanced armature achieves pure highs, to blow you away with an acoustic experience that borders on perfection.

They are also the first TWS earbuds to achieve Hi-Res Audio certification that promises to deliver studio-quality sound and intelligent active noise cancellation, blocking up to 42dB of noise pollution from around you.
All of this is wrapped up in a pair of buds and a compact case that can last for around 24 hours in between charges.
Audio
To harness the full potential from the new earbuds, Edifier has opened up its app to the NeoBuds Pro, where you’ll be able to customise the EQ, adjust Active Noise Cancelling settings and switch between Ambient Sound or standard.
The Edifier acoustics team are responsible for tuning the NeoBuds Pro earbuds to deliver the professional studio-grade sound and reach a frequency response of 40KHz. Pair this with the custom-designed Drivers, and Edifier promises a deep base and pure highs for “an exceptional audio experience”.

Mobile gamers will be pleased to know the new NeoBuds Pro offers a gaming mode, which, when activated, improves the audio latency on the Edifier earbuds down to as little as 80 milliseconds (ms).
Charging Case
Another area where Edifier is setting itself apart from the competition is with the charging case.
The plastic and brushed aluminium case has a bold red LED strip light indicator across the front edge. Many have a rather discrete green or blue single LED just under the surface of the case. When the case is opened or on charge, the light blinks to indicate the actions.
There is Fast Charging compatibility, which Edifier says can deliver 1 hour of use from just a 10-minute charge, and when it’s been fully charged, the case can reserve around 18 hours of power. That’s three full charges of the NeoBuds Pro earbuds before needing to find a power socket.
All of the headline power numbers vary depending on whether or not you will be using ANC or not, which you will. With ANC on, the buds will give around 5 hours of playback compared to 6 hours with it turned off. Similarly, the charging case will provide 15 hours of power reserve with constant ANC use or 18 hours without maintaining that 3x charging claim.
