Zendure SuperMini Go Review: This is the portable wireless charger to travel with in 2022. Wireless or wired, large or small the SuperMini Go charges almost every device smaller than a notebook, looks great and should be in every travel tech pack.

Zendure SuperMini Go Review

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Zendure understands portable power for travel. From the pocket-friendly SuperMini 5k to the off-grid living SuperBase Pro, Zendure has a device to fit almost every travel requirement.

I’ve reviewed many of them on {Tech} for Travel, and they always perform well, with at least one of the Passport series in my travel case permanently.

SuperMini Go, with its wireless and magnetic alignment charging pad, is a new direction for Zendure.

Zendure SuperMini Go Review// Features

The SuperMini Go is a 10,000mAh portable power bank with three charging outputs and two modes to deliver power optimally.

On the front is a new Qi wireless charging pad with magnetic alignment.

Any Qi-enabled wireless device can charge on this with the magnets included for users with MagSafe Apple devices.

Old & New Support

At the base is a single USB-A port with Zen 2+ 18W & SCP 22.5W output and a USB-C with 20W Power Delivery (PD) capability, ensuring a level of future-proofing as the world moves to a USB-C standard.

Unlike most other portable batteries, the SuperMini Go has a 25x25mm LCD display that informs you about the remaining power, which mode you’re on, when wireless charging is active, and when drawing a charge.

Zendure SuperMini Go Review// Power

The wireless charging pad is the big draw for the SuperMini Go and can deliver up to 15W, but it’s worth noting some phone manufacturers limit wireless charging for 3rd party devices.

Apple is a good example, restricting iPhones compatible with wireless charging to 7.5W. The SuperMini Go consistently charged an iPhone 13 Pro at 7W wirelessly during the review period.

This review was carried out on a pre-production model.

With the magnetic alignment, the iPhone sat into place nicely and the magnets were just about strong enough to maintain the weight of the charger when I picked it up.

USB Charging

As the world shifts to USB-C as a standard, I think having at least one USB-A port available on new chargers is good. As travellers still have cables and/or devices reliant on USB-A.

The Zen+ 2.0 technology on SuperMini Go determines the type of device attached and then gives the optimal power.

If the speed of charging matters, then the Power Delivery 20W USB-C port is your best bet.

During the review, using an iPhone 13 Pro, I managed a 0-80% charge in 1 hour and achieved 100% in just over 2 hours with 52% power remaining.

Wirelessly, the same device took 5.5 hours to go from flat to fully charged.

An Apple Watch using the USB-A slot took 110 minutes to fully charge and used 18% with the supplied Apple USB-A to Puck cable.

The time it takes to charge the SuperMini Go depends on the wall charger you use. For the review, it took me 4 hours with a 65W wall charger.

Zendure has included Pass-Through charging on the SuperMini Go, which means you can charge your devices while recharging the SuperMini.

Zendure SuperMini Go Review// Design

The SuperMini Go has delivered another pleasing Colourway called Sunset Ocean, which looks great!

Space Silver and Galaxy Black are the other options if you want something more serious. You won’t regret buying Sunset Ocean, though!

The SuperMini Go has been designed to look like a retro camera, but it’s not a novelty device.

Camera Styling

Both Black and Silver options of the Go give a bit more of a discrete appearance if you prefer a more understated device.

Around the charger, the wireless pad is the lens, the shutter button is for power (or double-tap for tricky charging), and the viewfinder is a very informative display screen.

Annoyingly the bump under the Zendure logo is there just for design and serves no purpose.

Zendure SuperMini Go Review// Conclusion

I’ve been expecting Zendure to go down the wireless route for some time; I didn’t expect them to do it so well!

The fun retro camera style might not be to everyone’s liking, but those people can opt for the Black or silver models that tone down the look. At the same time, the fun and visually satisfying Sunset Ocen colourway accentuates it and brings the design to life.

As for the features, it has everything you could want in a portable power pack for 2022. 10,000mAh is the sweet spot for capacity, and the 25x25mm LCD screen is a valuable addition.

Finally, the charging performance is as you’d expect from a Zendure device, efficient, quick and as described.
