The new Korin SnapPack Backpack pulls in all of its anti-theft know-how into one incredibly slick bag with a range of features, including a new magnetic quick-access top pocket that maintains the clean, sharp Korin design whilst keeping your belongings close at hand.

Korin SnapPack Backpack

For the sixth time, Korin is back on Kickstarter with a new bag; this time, it’s the SnapPack backpack.

I’ve covered several Korin bags before, including the ClickPack Pro, the FlexPack range and the ClickPack X, which went on to be my pick for the Best Travel Backpack in 2020.

In 2023, Korin has drawn on the successes, and some dissatisfactions, from its previous bags to produce a backpack I am genuinely excited to see and travel with.

Features //Korin SnapPack Backpack

Accessibility is the key feature of the SnapPack backpack, with both a top and a full 180° clamshell opening of the bag, two features rarely seen on a bag together. But the magic is in the top opening.

Korin is renowned for its security-conscious design, and to maintain this, it had to make a top opening secure. A robust magnetic flap keeps the space hidden away until needed. When required, it’s pulled up and apart to gain access to an individual pocket for those items required in a hurry.

Under the flap is a TSA-approved lock for the dual waterproof zipper used to access the clamshell opening of the SnapPack and a retractable rebound wire. This wire can be pulled out, wrapped around a table or post, and locked into the TSA-approved zipper lock.

At the base of the back panel is one further magnetically secured and discreet pocket for thinner items such as travel documents, and the whole SnapPack backpack is crafted from slash-proof fabric. So the backpack cannot be opened by someone else while you’re wearing it, no one can walk off with it when you’re not, and it can’t be cut or torn open either. Secure!

Korin says it has listened to its users and market research to bring improved shoulder straps to the SnapPack in the form of AirCell shoulder straps, which instantly draws my attention.

Most backpacks on the market, and more so the expensive “premium” brands, have very rigid straps with little to no support for when a user has more weight than usual inside. Korin claims its new “AirCell shoulder straps enormously buffer the pressure on the shoulders for improved comfort”.

On the left shoulder strap is a concealed RFID-blocking pocket for travel and credit cards, and on the right, a Quick rebound (retractable) keychain. There’s also a luggage strap along the backplate, and the external features are finished with two exterior waterproof side pockets.

Around the edge of the SnapPack are two zippers that open up 180° giving full access to the 20L capacity centre of the backpack. The laptop sleeve on the internal back panel can store up to a 16″ model and has two smaller mesh pockets on the front of the sleeve for peripherals such as the power adapter.

We designed a better and faster way to access the items you use every day, the SnapPack’s magnetic design makes storage and access incredibly smooth.

The internal 20L space is somewhat restricted by the body of the top quick-access pocket and side bottle pouch; however, this appears to be a small price to pay for a well-organised backpack with everything you could need within easy reach.

Inside is a large zipper pocket against the front of the backpack and a further mesh pocket on the side wall.
